UBER TO RUN LOST & FOUND EVENT

Uber is hosting its first-ever Lost & Found Pop-Up in New York City! The event will occur on April 8 in the Flatiron District at Fifth Avenue between East 22nd and East 23rd Streets.

At the pop-up, visitors can explore displays of some of the most unusual items left behind in Uber, play games, and even win commonly lost items like headphones, umbrellas, and crescent bags. In honor of someone who once lost 175 cheeseburgers in an Uber, Shake Shack will give out free burgers from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The event is part of Uber’s ninth annual Lost & Found Index, highlighting the past year’s most surprising and frequently forgotten items.

It sounds like a fun way to turn forgetfulness into a celebration!

Uber’s Lost & Found Index reveals that the most commonly forgotten items in rideshares are:

  • Clothing (jackets, sweaters, and even shoes)

  • Luggage (especially carry-ons)

  • Headphones (AirPods seem to be a frequent casualty)

  • Wallets (credit cards and IDs included)

  • Jewelry (rings, watches, and bracelets)

  • Phones (a classic!)

  • Cameras (some expensive ones, too)

  • Tablets or books (Kindles and paperbacks alike)

  • Laptops (a costly mistake)

  • Vapes (frequently left behind)

Interestingly, people tend to forget different items depending on the day of the week. For example, luggage is most commonly lost on Mondays, while phones are often left behind on Fridays.

The event starts at high noon April 8th.
